Drama, drama, drama...

High School has loads of drama.. Never ending drama. Heck, life's dramatic.

" All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they
have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts,
his acts being seven ages. "
-William Shakespeare-

1. Newspaper drama.

My school had a collecting newspaper competition and laid a $100 as the grand prize. MY class, 5 Opal wanted the money so immediately, we got newspapers to compete.
Soon, we were WINNING and we were all happy.

I guess that the the first class, 5 Agate didn't like that. So they started piling up newspaper.

MY class thought we were gonna lose and we were sad...BUT we continued to pile newspapers to win.
However, my assistant monitress, S, realise that 5 Agate was cheating. GASP. Yea, they kinda were. They were double and triple entrying the amount of newspapers they had. But because we had no proof. We shut up.

THEN, *insert drumrolls* they were caught cheating. 5 Agate stole 1 Jasmine's 100 kg worth of newspapers. Can you believe it???
The best class cheating! Wow...
Well, not everyone in 5 Agate is a cheater because I have good friends in that class BUT the ones that cheated really ruined the class reputation. Like they say, one bad apple ruins the whole bunch.

Anyhow, they were eliminated. BUT 5 Agate currently claims that my class, 5 Opal framed them up. However, it is not us who reported the theft. It was the students of 1 Jasmine that reported it. MY class simply used it as an opportunity to eliminate competition. (yes, cruel, cruel us.)

Whatever. My class won and we're happy! Anyway, now you know that even newspapers create drama...

I bought my mum a soap rose for $4. It's kinda pretty and it smells good. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAREST MUM!!

3. There goes my summer holidays.

My friends and I entered the magazine NIE competition. We MUST WIN!!!! And to win, we must be the best!
And so, we must start doing the research and making our magazine. We must start gathering our materials and start on the magazine. We need to make a winning magazine that will make people go WOW!!

"I don't meet competition. I crush them"
-Charles Revson-

Win Or Lose Pictures, Images and Photos

And oh, we have projects to do during the summer. School stupid projects. But we have to do it if we don't want to fail.

*sigh* Competition and projects. There goes my lovely summer holidays.

4. My phone is AWESOME

My old model Nokia N95 is kinda awesome. I recently downloaded Flickr and youtube on my phone. So now, I can take pics and upload it straight to flickr. Not only that, I can also watch youtube on my phone now.

Well, soon, I'm gonna download VOX on my phone.

AND I'm so happy that I have a flickr account. Always wanted one but I only created one recently.

PS : I edited the birthday card there wit my phone. Another awesome fact of my phone!

Hey there! Thanx for entering my giveaway! I took a class years ago and learned how to make those purses. Heh. It's actually not that hard if you have a good sewing machine that doesn't skip stitches. However, mine skips every chance it gets. :P LOL! Good luck in the drawing!

Much Ado About Our Healthcare

During this week, something terrible but hilarious when you looked back, happened to me.

It was a normal Monday morning. It was close to the end of the month, so I was awaiting for my salary to come in. I was just trying to just hold on till the end of the month. Typical monday. Nothing eventful yet.

Then, it was lunchtime.
I went to lunch with my colleagues.
I ordered myself a lovely nasi kukus with ikan keli. That means steamed rice with catfish for those of you who don't read malay.

One of my colleague often order this and it always looked good so I decided to give it a try.

Bad mistake.

I ended up having a fishbone stuck in my throat. When you think of it, it's pretty silly. But it scared the living daylights out of me at that moment. I tried swallowing rice to push the fishbone down but after half a bowl later, I found it to be not working.

I heard from my dad when I was younger that, if a fishbone get stuck in your throat, you had to do an operation. And that only fueled my fea…

Design Thinking and Steve Jobs

This is going to be a long post and I apologize.

Anyway my department meeting yesterday talked about design thinking and it only reminded me of Steve Jobs.

I have always loved Apple and Steve Jobs. I know Steve Jobs wasn't the greatest guy ever. He could have been nicer and etc. But this is not about that. This is about his vision, his beliefs and philosophy. I never quite realised how much I believed in Steve Jobs philosophy until I sat down and thought about it.

I admired Steve Jobs philosophy of design first. I don't know if he was the first guy who made design thinking into a thing. Or if he is the one who popularize that thinking?

Minimalism. Simplicity. Clean. Aesthetics. User friendly. He made sure Apple designs abide by this. And this is what I have always loved about Apple. He made technology sexy, beautiful and cool.

I never quite realised that I, myself, believed in these values.

But today, as I sat down and think, I realised that, the older I grow, the more I have tu…

Dear me,

I watched an anime where a girl managed to write a letter to her past self of ten years. True, that's not possible in reality but the concept of that is interesting. She wrote to her ten years younger self to avoid her regrets. She wanted her past self to change certain decisions in the past so that her current self won't have any regrets.

Personally, I wouldn't want to tell my past self to change her decisions to avoid regrets. Do I have regrets? Yes. But I won't change them because I learnt from them. And that has been grow as a person. So I don't quite regret that.

However, if I could write a letter to my past self, it would be fun. If I were to write to my ten years younger self, that would be my 13 year old self. And this is what I would love to say.

Dear me,

Hello there. This is your 23 year old self. I know, it's unbelievable. You can barely imagine yourself at that age currently.
I still remember being 13. Vaguely. My memory isn't that great.

But I remem…
